About me

I grew up in West Los Angeles, California where I learned to appreciate the California lifestyle of both urban and rural adventures. Family camping trips, museum visits, and international travel have all given me an observant eye, and a broad range of visual references that I regularly use in my work.

My crafty side comes from my grandmother. Once retired, she took every senior craft class she could get here hands on… calligraphy, cake decorating, embroidery, sock stuffed animals, soft-sculpture (classic 80’s), beadwork… a carpet bag of skills, and seemingly pretty esoteric. However– combine that warm and fuzzy handmade approach with my parents’ lifelong commitment to DIY, and you end up with a creative thinker like me. It was never a matter of if, but rather how it could be done… and with custom flair.

I moved to the SF Bay Area for my design education, where I gravitated towards package design. It’s the telling of the product story– communicating its purpose, value, and style. Multiple facets create extra opportunities to tell that story.

I work with an in-house design team in the housewares industry. As it often is in small companies, I’ve practiced several skillsets over the years, including product and package development, photography, brand identity, surface design, as well as sales support in the form of program presentations and trade show materials.

My focus as a designer is to:
Design with meaning. To be a part of bringing something to life that comes from authenticity and intention.

Connect. To consider the makers and producers, buyers, and consumers. Being a part of a reciprocal flow between all parties involved in creating and using a product. To engage, help, share, learn, and grow with the team I work with.

Work well; live well. To get the work done, and incorporate time to stay inspired and energized. To support my home, health, travel and all creative endeavors.
